FiberLink LLC Completes Transaction with 360networks for Chicago to New Orleans Route Fiber Optic Route.

FiberLink announced today that is has successfully completed a transaction to acquire ownership of multiple dark fiber strands on the Chicago to New Orleans route owned by 360networks. By adding this major piece to its existing network, FiberLink increases its network size to over 2,000 fiber optic route miles covering eight states. The additional network enhances FiberLink's presence in Illinois while giving it a presence in Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, and Louisiana as well as massive fiber connectivity to cities such as St. Louis, Memphis, and New Orleans.

FiberLink, LLC Acquires Pathnet Route

FiberLink, LLC, has successfully completed the acquisition of a state-of-the-art fiber optic network owned by Pathnet Operating Inc., located between downtown Chicago and downtown Denver. In conjunction with a Chicago private investment firm, three rural telephone exchange companies and one fiber optic provider, the assets were purchased on July 20, 2004 in a Chapter 7 proceeding in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Virginia.
